StormSync Technology — Next-Generation AI Weather Engine
StormSync Technology powers the National Hazard Outlooks and Real-Time Alerts with an advanced blend of AI-driven parsing and deterministic logic. It interprets SPC convective outlooks, NHC tropical discussions, and live NWS warnings using a dual system: a precision AI parser and a fast non-AI categorizer.
How StormSync Technology Works
AI Parsing (SPC / NHC)
- SPC: Extracts categorical risk levels by state — High, Moderate, Enhanced, Slight, Marginal, or TSTM.
- NHC: Reads official tropical bulletins to extract position, winds, and pressure, assigning a risk scale from Extreme to Low.
- Provides structured, consistent outputs that power the National Hazard Outlooks interface.
Non-AI Real-Time Parser
- Processes all official NWS warnings instantly.
- Categorizes by type (TOR/SVR/FLD) and assigns observed/PDS/emergency flags.
- Designed for maximum speed and reliability with automatic fallbacks.
System Architecture
- Ingest: Fetch SPC outlooks, NHC discussions, and NWS alert feeds.
- Normalize: Standardize timestamps, geocodes, and hazard fields.
- Parse: AI interprets SPC/NHC; deterministic logic parses NWS alerts.
- Rank: Prioritize High/Extreme hazards for display.
- Deliver: Render results to the National Hazard Outlooks and Alerts pages.

AI & Color Categorization
StormSync Technology applies SPC-standardized risk colors for intuitive clarity:
- High (Pink)
- Moderate (Red)
- Enhanced (Orange)
- Slight (Yellow)
- Marginal (Dark Green)
- TSTM / No Risk (Light Green)
Innovation Roadmap
- Expanded SPC/NHC parsing capabilities.
- Probabilistic mapping and polygon rendering.
- Smarter alert escalation using AI signal strength.
- Explainable AI — transparent decision tracing.
Disclaimer: This page demonstrates how StormSync Technology interprets SPC, NHC, and NWS data.
The layout and outputs here may differ slightly from the live app. StormSync is not an official NWS product — always verify with SPC/NHC and local authorities.
