Behind StormSync.
The person who built it, and why it exists.
I go by Zloy.
American. Weather enthusiast. I've been following severe weather for a good while now, mostly because I was really interested in Pecos Hank's storm chasing videos. StormSync started as something I built for myself because nothing else existed that did what I wanted.
I keep my real name off the project. Zloy is fine.
There was literally nothing to use.
NWWS OI is so fast... And when I went looking for a desktop app that could actually tap into it and show me alerts in a useful way, I found basically nothing. A few GitHub libraries. Some unmaintained scripts. No real GUI application that a normal person could just download and run.
People either didn't know the feed existed, didn't know how to connect to it, private apps, or built backend-only tools with no interface. So I built the interface. StormSync is what I wanted to exist.
Still early, moving fast.
StormSync is a solo project in active development. It's free, it's in beta, and it gets updated regularly. If something is broken or something important is missing, I genuinely want to know about it, reach out through any of the links below.
